Triad Mastery For Bass Guitar (The Cyborg Bassist Volume 3)
20 Chord Tone Etudes For Humans & Robots!
Important: This is an Ebook download. NOT a hard copy book.
What is The Cyborg Bassist Volume 3: Chord Tone Mastery?
In this third volume of The Cyborg Bassist we venture into the world of Triads. Each etude works a specific triad through 12 keys in a variety of different sequences. We also take a look at the theory behind the construction principles for every Triad.
Is the book an Ebook or a hard copy?
The book is downloaded as an ebook PDF. This can be read on your computer, tablet, phone or printed. We will be looking to publish the book as a hard copy through Amazon at some point in the near future.
Are there any video lessons?
Yes, you will have access to 8 video lessons in your My Courses page. The video lessons form a mini course teaching you how to approach the book from a practice perspective. Position shifting, technique and the exercise types are all covered in depth.
What level of player is the book aimed at?
The course is aimed at players of any level but I recommend at least a few months to a year of bass playing experience as a minimum. The exercises are not too difficult when learned in the correct way but they still require a basic grounding in bass technique.
What will I learn?
After completing the book and the course you will have a much better understanding of the Major, Minor, Augmented and Diminished Triads over the entire instrument. You will have improved your position shifting to a high level and have the technical facility to move fluidly around the fretboard.
Do I Have Lifetime Access?
Yes, you have lifetime access to the ebook and course material.

I thought I new my triads well but this course showed me that I was wrong. The format of the lessons is really well done but I do not follow the lessons in the order indicated. I go 1st major lesson- 1st minor lesson- etc…then 2nd of each.
I have finished the 1st major triads exercises but I keep working on it like a mantra 45 mn every day.
The 1st minor ex is a beat challenging since it goes backward (cycle of 5th) but at the end the diagrams repeat themselves and become easier to anticipate. Also since I have a 5 str, I transpose everything on the other group of 4str BEAD.
These triad exercises are really challenging, they make you to work every day. I do not rush because it is important to find your own rhythm and natural speed in order to keep going.
The Cyborg bassist 3 is really the type of course that make you move foward.

On page 28, etude 3, measure 20, you should indicate 6, 2, 2, 4 in the tablature instead of 6, 7, 7, 4, since the indications for fingers 4, 1, 1, 4 have this way more sense.

Having already completed the other two previous Cyborg Bass courses, purchasing this one was a logical option. If having a handle on the major and minor scales throughout the fretboard is interesting to me to gain fluidity by moving more freely on the instrument, this third volume, applied to triads, is even more valuable and practical to me. I find that triads are at some point even more important when composing bass lines and gaining greater knowledge about the harmonic structures of songs. Mark did it again!!

Hi Mark. This is just the course I needed. I’m learning where the notes are on the fretboard and I am also learning to change position fluidly. I am onto etude number 2 ( chord variations). It is very interesting and challenging…. but then I’m not in a hurry. I have downloaded the course and can take as long as I like with it. Many thanks. John

This is a great way to learn the fretboard
I have taken both the Scale Essentials and Chord Tone courses and I’m finding this to be a perfect topper for the 2. I often reference the previous courses but this one brings it all together
Don’t rush through it-and just a tip; visualize the etudes it really helps
Thank you Mark!!
