This course is a lot of fun to study. And itˋs great fun to play all these slap licks with the Complete Track, which gives you the feeling to play with a band. Mark is a fantastic bass player and a very good teacher.

A challenging and progressive course for learning how to play slap bass. Fun to work on the technique with nice examples and grooves to practice. There are some extra grooves to practice in the Practice room to extend this course. Just grab your bass and start slapping!

This is a very challenging course and it quickly exposed those areas that I need to work on. I was cruising along until Groove #16, which though musically simple, exposed how poorly I was using my left hand to mute the strings. I practice this groove every day now. My other challenge is using the strike through slap technique. I love the sound I get when I do it properly (it’s so much fuller), but striking it correctly every time doesn’t come easy. Mark, if there are any other tips you could provide on that technique, that would be greatly appreciated. I like the graduated approach provided by the grooves getting progressively more difficult and I think it will get me where I want to be. I’m a hobbyist and playing the bass is just plain fun for me. The grooves provided are both challenging and fun.
