When I first started playing bass back in the 80’s my instructor really did not spend much time with me on chords. I thought the world of the guy and thought maybe chords were not necessary. After all, he was in one of the biggest area bands. But, I always loved and gravitated to bass players who incorporated chords. Because of what I am leaning in this course, I honestly wish that I incorporated chords right from the very beginnings of by bass playing. Like planting a tree then best time to plant was twenty years ago, the seconds best time to plant is right now! :-) I know I am becoming a better all around bass player because of this course in every aspect of my playing.

This is an excellent course for learning how to play chords on the bass. To be honest, there isn’t that many courses talking about chords for bass. I highly recommend this course because then you can start to play everything from the double and triple stops in a band to spice up your bass lines and impact the sound of the rest of the band in a way that other instruments simply cannot do. But also, Piano/Keyboard Players and Guitar Players can talk to all the band mates about certain parts of a song as they are rehearsing. /But it’s not something that Bass Players do very often if at all. Now surely you can go up to a Piano/Keyboard and play the chords or you can pick up an Electric or Acoustic Guitar and try to play chords and hope for the best. But when you can play the more common chords like triads and seventh chords on the bass, you get a better understanding of what the rest of the band is trying to do. And that makes for better bass line creation. But as I mentioned with those instruments above, they can comp a singer or other solo instrument of some sort by playing chords. Now as a bass player, you are not just limited to single bass lines only, you now can also comp a singer or other solo instrument. And it just feels wonderful to take part in that. And Mark does describe fingerings in the video lessons. So if you are Blind and can’t see, you may not be able to use the workbook material with a screen reader yet, but at least for me, I found that listening to Mark in the video lessons was helpful enough. Once you take this course, you won’t regret it at all.
